Story
Dhinawan (emu) is the totem of my uncles. The men in my family are strong like the country they were born on. This painting shows the generational strength but also the changes in both season and time. The stars shine down on our country and many times while I stood quietly my uncles and other family members would point to the stars showing me where Dhinawan (emu) could be seen. Sometimes you see Dhinawan (emu) sitting and he is laying on the eggs. This lets my uncles know when it is time to collect eggs but the only get a few from each nest to ensure that a large number of Dhinawans (emus) survive. This story of Dhinawan (emu) that is seen in the sky is reflected on the land. The country changes each season and after the rain shows the colours of the emu.
